In the transition from analog to digital exams, I am thankful for the ease of statistical analysis. I have a number of questions about my own Final and with the built-in data collection provided by Canvas, I’m able to spend some time answering those questions with more than just my own impressions; I have data to base my reflection on.
One of the questions I’ve had is around the time the Final exam takes. Students have 90-minutes to complete their Final and I have a bias towards filling that time. I don’t want them to leave parts unfinished but at the same time, I want them comfortably working through the entire examination period.
My Final was divided into two parts (for my ease in correcting), the aggregate results are below:

It seems to take my average student 58-minutes (of the 90-minutes allowed) to complete the exam. It seems as if students have some extra time and that I can expand on the Final exam for next semester.
Looking at the graphs, it also seems as if the free-response section can be made more challenging. I’ll need to dig into those questions at a later date.
