Urban sprawl is bad; intellectual sprawl is good

The 50 books I read in 2014.

I re-read some classics, which I really enjoyed (like Red Harvest and The Hobbit), found some new greats (like How We Got to Now and Catastrophe 1914), and unfortunately read some really awful books (like George Washington’s Secret Six and Northanger Abbey).

To the best of my recollection, all 50 of these books were read on my Kindle (which, as an aside, I had to replace. I lost my original Kindle when I left it in the airplane seat-back of a flight from Atlanta to San Francisco in July.)

Interestingly, my reading seems to be split 50-50 between fiction and non-fiction. That isn’t by design, but I find it a suitable balance.
