Students on the last day of my two sections of AP Psychology — and then the three juniors who missed the photo due to the AP US History test.
It was a great year, and I’ll miss these students when they’re gone. That’s really the hardest thing about teaching seniors… you get to know them and care for them, and, before you know it, they’re gone. I’ll be lucky to see a few of them again, when they come back to visit, but I’ll never know what becomes of most. It’s actually quite sad.
Adding to that melancholy is the realization that, since I turned 40 this school year, it’s very unlikely that I’ll see these students at a future Back-to-School Night, whereas it’s quite likely I’ll see many previous graduates in that way.
