So, I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do for tomorrow’s Introduction to Psychology classes. It’s been *years* since I’ve felt this sense of dread for the next day’s class.
I’m covering the two Intro classes (as well as two AP Psych classes) for a buddy who’s out on maternity leave. They’d started the SocialPsych unit while he was still here last week; I finished out last week for him, and finished teaching the core content on Tuesday. For the last day of the week, since he returns on Monday, I made up an activity wherein students formed groups, were assigned a SocialPsych principle not in the textbook, which they then described in a Google Doc spreadsheet - and then performed a skit for.
But wait! Today was only *Thursday*!? But we’re done with the material. *And* I already faked a day with a made–up activity. I didn’t just finish the unit *one* day early; we finished it *two* days early!
And I’ve got NOTHING for tomorrow …
I’ve also got no gas. I’ve been teaching six classes for the week, and I’m feeling drained. I don’t know what I’m going to do for tomorrow, and I don’t have the energy to think of something now – I’ve *got* to sleep.
